filters

Doing a car shoot this weekend and i've seen mention of a polarizing filter helps with reflection and color. but how much? and is it really necessary?

Yes it is especially if it's a bright sunny day. Cost depends on the size and the quality. Hoya pro will be more as will B&W. Get the largest filter size that matches your largest lens filter size and pick up step down rings for your smaller lenses.
