white Lightning WL10000 strobes

I just picked up a pair of Paul C. Buff White Lightning 10000 strobes.

I wonder if anyone here shoots with these? the specs from the white lightning site call for a sync voltage of 24v. I assume that I would not be able to use these with my K20D using the PC plug???? The Manual does not specify and x-sync voltage for the K20D but I suspect its somewhere around 5v????

The seller is including a couple of sets of wireless triggers with them so using them shouldn't be a problem.

I've always wondered if you run the same risk of damage if you use the PC plug rather than the hot shoe. But youre right, a couple of wireless triggers solves that problem.

Pentax support says that the x-sync voltage is around 30V. I wonder if anyone actually knows?

worth what it's costing you ...

For what it's worth, I've used WL10,000 & 5000 with my K-1000 for years. However, I bought a radio remote rather than risk 'em on my K10. I suggest you not chance it either, for although Buff's stuff is known to be conservatively designed, you're talking about possibly 20 y.o. electronics.
Enjoy.

It's been pointed out to me that the K20D x-sync socket, has a separate circuit built into it to protect against over voltage.

around 6:50 in this video.
