New ball heads - PRICE DROPS!

Yes, I've got more support gear up for sale!

In this case, I'm further slimming down my personal collection of gently used gear, as well as offering for sale a few brand new heads I bought from a manufacturer in China. The brand new heads are just that: unused and fully functional, only bought out of curiosity to see if the quality was up to the brand they are "knocking off."

First, my used gear:

Nest NT-6284 carbon fiber tripod - $130 SOLD

Sunwayfoto DB36TR Traveler Ball Head - $130 SOLD

PRICE DROPS!

And now the new, unused gear:

Leofoto LH-55 low-profile ball head - WAS $150, now $125

Does this look familiar? Yes, it is an almost direct knockoff of the famous RRS BH-55 head, with only minor differences to the knobs and case. Like the original, it has a 55mm ball, uses compression to lock the ball (very solidly), and it can be difficult to set the tension amount. More information can be found here.

Again, this thing is a beast of a head, mainly intended for heavy gear and to go on a pretty big tripod. It weighs nearly a kilo (2 lbs) and can hold 50+ lbs, and comes with a nice 70mm plate and a padded case, along with the original paperwork and box. It is indistinguishable from new, because it was only taken out and tested a bit to confirm how well its made and how it works. Personally, I'd say it's 80% of what RRS sells, but at 30% of the price.

Leofoto LH-30 low-profile ball head - WAS $100 now $75

Yet another knockoff of and RRS head, this time the much smaller BH-30. This one has a 30mm ball and weighs a lot less than the beast above (less than 1 lb) and can only hold up 20 lbs (10kg)! You can read more about it here.

Again, this was bought from the manufacturer mainly out of curiosity to see just how close to RRS they could get, and in this case, they got it almost exactly right. The big LH-55 is not quite up to RRS standards, but this little LH-30 is basically indistinguishable from the original in build quality and function. Scale does that, I guess.

Is the Leofoto LH-55 has a standard Arca-swiss plate support?
would it be good for supporting a FA-250-600 with a long lens support on a sturdy monopod?
thanks

It has a standard A/S clamp, and it will hold up an FA 250-600, but I would strongly recommend a gimbal for that beast. Or else a head like this along with something like a Wimberley Sidekick. You really want that weight balanced instead of stressing the ball...

Some people could use a new head, but they need one that thinks for them... LOL. I can attest to the quality and condition of the tripod and head I got from this seller. If you are interested in one of these heads you can trust him to be clear about condition.
