Hey Ian, according to the rules of the market place a seller can bump a specific ad every 48 hours, no sooner, this (or a reply like yours) allows the ad to be moved back to the top of the listings. It matters not if you search and your search term is in the ad, however if you're browsing the list of ads then many people won't go multiple pages deep in the number of ad listings so the act of bumping it allows it to be seen more often allowing a greater chance of finding a buyer. For me having 9-10 ads I cycle them and therefore bump the same ad every 4-5 days.
