Item Description
Pentax FA* 600/4 ED IF lens. I'm the first owner of the lens.

There are some scratches on the body; common on the FA* with usage due to the rather soft paint finish. Dent in the hood. Glass is clean.
Comes in original trunk case with the supplied filters (including the front PF filter). Some scratches on the back side of the trunk case.

This lens usually sells for over $5000. Low price due to the fact that I suspect that the lens does not perform at its optimum. It may need a visit to an optical bench and adjusted (or maybe I'm too critical) . There are no one around where I live that can do this.
I have posted images that show how the lens performs now. It can still produce decent images.

I haven't used the lens for years except for the test shots; too big and bulky (7kg!). I have used high ISO in order to avoid blurring due to vibrations

Well, same situation here. We have kind of service company here in CZ, but I have serious doubts if FA* 600 is the kind of lens they have ever seen

The sample photos show it. Well, not really at this magnification.
Some green fringing (the white gull) and not razor sharp.

Yes, it has the front and rear filters. The front filter has never been off. The pouch with the rear filters can be seen inside the trunk.

Many years ago I managed to slightly unscrew (a few mm) the whole front section of the lens while struggling with the rather cumbersome hood. I suspect that this may the cause for its less than optimal performance.
It was sent to repair for fastening the front section but there was no optical bench available....
