Item Description
SMC Pentax-DA* 1:2.8 200mm. I purchased this lens new from Adorama in 2011. Selling to make room for the new DFA 70~210. CONUS shipping is included in the price. For other destinations, please inquire.

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ
On a recent outing, focusing would sometimes freeze up. Each time this happened I would get it working again by switching lens and body to manual focus, then moving the focus ring; autofocus would work again after switching lens and body back to AF. I do not know if this is a sign of impending SDM failure or some other glitch, perhaps related to camera firmware. It is, at any rate, the reason I have priced this lens so low. The lens is sold as-is, noting that you may return the lens to me for a full refund for any reason within 14 days of delivery; you pay return shipping.

UPDATE: I have converted the lens firmware so that it now uses the camera's screwdrive motor instead of SDM. If the buyer prefers, I will convert it back to SDM.

There is a small scratch on the lens barrel, visible in the last photo below.

Update: I have converted the lens to screwdrive, per bjdavey's instructions. The lens now works with the camera's screwdrive motor on all three of my Pentax DSLR bodies: K-1, K-5, and K10D. This change is reversible, which I will happily do for any buyer who prefers that.

Just a reminder that despite its designation as DA, this lens is a solid performer on full frame.
