That photo gets a "wow" from me. I've not encountered a monarch butterfly with a caterpillar before. So cool!

The zoom lock on my copy is also non-functional, no big deal.

I cannot believe your 150-450 is still available. Half the price of a new one. The zoom lock on my copy is also non-functional, no big deal.
yeah I thought it would sell fast. I guess the zoom lock is a problem. But I searched the forum and read people say it broke in the first month

The lens lock tab seems to be rather easy to break / come off.
I use that thing very very gingerly.

Wow what a good deal. I really wish I could jump on this but I don't have enough money. Well I guess it's time to try to sell my Bigma. And a bunch of other stuff.
This is way sharper than the bigma

If times weren't so uncertain I probably would have by now. It's hard to justify a purchase when things can rapidly change on you.

I owned and then sold the following Sigma telephoto zooms: 135-400, 170-500 (twice!!) & 120-400. All were excellent until 300mm then sharpness went away very quickly. Cropped images from my DA*300 beat ANY of the Sigmas. I’m still learning with the used DFA 150-450 I bought here on the Forum Marketplace, but it is an impressive performer.

So tempting..if it weren’t so close to the holidays...
I’ll look into the zoom lock, but just so I understand, this just locks the lens in place preventing it from creeping while walking?

You don't say in the listing, so I'll ask:

How's the glass? Any marks, scratches or fungus?

Any problems with the autofocus?

Thanks.

The only problems are the lock. And it zooms back more than 150mm and it wont focus until 150 or more. You can feel when it hits 150 though. The glass is good
