Macro Stand using a Canon Macro Stage (2nd PRICE REDUCTION)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Macro Stand using a Canon Macro Stage

Asking Price
210.00 USD

Item Location
Coquitlam BC. (Canada)

Item Description
This is a custom-built macro stand, using new hardware components, and a Canon bellows accessory. It is easily disassembled for flat storage. It is suitable for camera bodies without a battery grip attached. It can accommodate a focusing rail, and the Hejnar MS3-8 aligns the camera lens directly over the stage.

It can be used with any of the Pentax Auto Bellows Units, e.g.(M42), Pentax Auto Bellows K, M and A and also works well with the compact Pentax bellows units such as the Pentax Bellows Unit II (late version), Pentax Bellows Unit K, or the Pentax Bellows Unit III. The optimum lens would be a 50mm macro but a standard 50mm lens will also do nicely, using extension tubes. The stand sits on four legs but has a wide stance making it very solid.

The Canon Macro Stage was designed to attach to the Canon Auto Bellows rail through the bottom of the stage with a 3/8 captive screw. Using an elbow to facilitate the attachment of the vertical rail, creates an additional, fifth support point, and contributes substantially to stability from the original Canon design. The stand easily supports any bellows and a full frame camera body and lens.

Bill of materials:
(1) Canon Macro Stage (with PDF Instruction Manual)
(2) Hejnar Photo: Multi-Purpose Rail # E030-10
(3) Hejnar Photo: Clamp # F61B
(4) Hejnar Photo: 90-Degree Elbow #G102A
(5) Hejnar Photo: ¼” Spacer #SPACER-BLOCK-1-4
(6) Screws, washers, Allen keys

Notes:
(1) Using the Hejnar MS3-8 Focusing Rail, the lens will align with perfectly with the stage. For other makes use ¼, 3/8 or 9/16 spacer blocks behind the clamp, available from Hejnar Photo: Pentax Forums - The Ultimate Resource for Everything Pentax Only a ¼ spacer block is included with the stand.

(2) Using a full-size Pentax Auto Bellows unit, remove the clamp from the vertical rail and attach it directly to the bellows.

(3) Using compact Pentax Bellows Units, leave the clamp on the rail and install a ¼ spacer block (included) between the clamp and the rail and use an Arca-Swiss compatible bi-directional mounting plate on the bellows, such as a Hejnar Photo H007.

(4) Because of the long footprint of the Canon Macro Stage, it will not easily accommodate a camera and lens by itself without a precision focusing component, and would require a rather large spacer block and a clamp set for positioning.
