Item Description
This is a custom-built macro stand using a Soligor Stand and new hardware components. The
Soligor Macro Photographic Stand uses a full featured subject stage that has a 360-degree rotating stage. It comes with an 18% neutral gray stage plate and a milk white translucent plate that and can be illuminated from below. It is suitable for camera bodies without a battery grip attached and can be used with a focusing rail such as the Hejnar MS3-8. It can be easily disassembled for flat storage.
By removing the 3/8 spacer between the rail and upper clamp, it will accommodate a full-sized
Pentax Auto Bellows (M42), or any of the newer
Pentax Auto Bellows that are K mount, using a bidirectional QR plate such as a Hejnar #H007. This would include the Pentax
Auto Bellows K, M and A. The Pentax compact bellows units such as the
Pentax Bellows Unit II (late version),
Pentax Bellows Unit K, or the
Pentax Bellows Unit III can also be used by using a 9/16 spacer block.
The optimum lens for a bellows with this stand would be a 50mm. Using a macro lens would be the best choice, but a “standard” 50mm lenses will also do nicely.
The stand sits on five stainless steel feet, and with the five support points, it is exceptionally stable even using a heavy camera body

Note:
Because of the larger footprint of this macro stand, which places the center of the subject stage further from the vertical rail, it will not easily accommodate a camera and lens without a precision focusing component. That would require a rather large spacer block between the clamp and rail.
