Pentax DA* 16-50mm 2.8 SMC version.
Lens body is in excellent condition with little signs of use. Focus and zoom rings function smoothly.
Lens elements are very clean with no scratches. A lens filter was always used to protect the front element. No dust in lens that would show in photos.
This lens does display sleepy SDM focus motor syndrome. When the lens is used regularly the SDM starts up without hesitation but if the lens sits for a while then the SDM focus motor will take some time to warm up and start working properly. The focus motor has behaved this way for many years but always seems to get back to working normally after some use. Keep using the SDM or you can convert this lens to screw drive, there is a DIY thread about converting this lens to screw drive in Pentax Forums.
I am the original owner of this lens and has used it semi-professionally until the K-1 was released.
I am now shooting mostly full frame and this lens sees very little use. It's excellent for those looking to get started with a light weight kit.
Lens comes with Front and Rear lens caps, Original lens hood and pouch.
