PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
10 Pentax cameras, 10 lenses (K, M42, M37 and 6x7) and accessories

Asking Price
125 USD

Item Location
US (United States)

Item Description
As I mentioned in another thread I need to let part of my collection go to finance other unexpected expenses. All bodies work (speeds sound right and meters move) but I'd recommend a CLA if you are planning on shooting with them. All lenses work. Any other details are indicated below. Please message me if you need additional pictures. Insured shipping is free in the US. Not a priority right now but I will consider a partial trade for a silver takumar 83 1.9 (m37 mount). Stay well and keep shooting Pentax

M37 (Asahiflex):
Asahi Kogaku Takumar 500 f5 (+ built in hood, front cap and case missing top) - cleaning marks and scratches on the body. The focusing mechanism is smooth, aperture opens and closes well, and the built-in hood opens and retracts as it should. The mount is removable. In his book, F Sherfy reports that "it is a quality super telephoto lens" and that "AOC recommended the lens for use in animal and plant life observations as well as distant objects of importance" - $520

M42:
Asahi Pentax SB2 + Auto Takumar 55mm f2.2 with black front (front glass has cleaning marks) - $125
Asahiflex H2 (no lens) - $160
Honeywell Heiland Pentax H2 (Store demonstrator) - $260
Auto Takumar 55mm f2.2 (front ring of the lens is slightly dented and front glass has cleaning marks) - $45
Asahi Pentax S2 Super - $55
Asahi Pentax S2 Super Black - $75
Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic F + Super Multi Coated Takumar 55 1.8 - $80
Asahi Pentax Spotmatic F black (with some faint engravings) - $50
Super Takumar 35 3.5 in original case - $40
Super Multi Coated Takumar 35 3.5 - $45
SMC Takumar 55 1.8 - $45
Auto Takumar 35 2.3 - $300

K mount:
Pentax Kx motordrive + Pentax M50mm f1.7 (lower plate shows paint loss) - $135
Asahi Pentax Mx Black + Pentax M50mm f1.7 - $115
Asahi Pentax K2dmd + A50mm f1.7 - $185
Pentax K1000 Body 1 (with bump Asahi Opt. Co Made in Japan) comes in a box with the strap and the manual - $150
Pentax K1000 Body 2 (with bump Asahi Opt. Co Made in Japan) comes in a box with the strap - $150
Pentax K1000 Body 3 (with bump Asahi Opt. Co) comes in a camera set box with the camera box, the lens box, a 50mm lens (in good condition) with registration card and cap, a strap and the manual. This body has a small mark on top, by the flash shoe - $130
SMC M50 2 with 2xTC - $30
Rikenon XR 50 2 with 2xTC - $25

6x7:
6x7 Takumar 600mm f4. A tank of a lens bought during a LBA episode. Some scuffs on the body and the tripod mount. Otherwise excellent. Lowepro backpack included for storage and transportation - $930

Accessories:
Asahi Pentax Original K mount M42 adapter - $45
Asahi Pentax K2dmd motordrive - $155
Asahi Pentax Power Pack M $240: 120V version. It is very clean and works well. It comes with the original power cable. According to Bodijar Dimitrov (http://kmp.pentaxians.eu/power/): The Power Pack M is a multi-purpose timer and power-supply unit that connects to AC power or a car battery. It enables continuous shooting, interval shooting, timer control, remote control terminals, and many more features. It can also serve as power source for the Motor Drive LX, Motor Drive MD, and Motor Drive MX.

What does the motordrive mean next to the KX listing? And that listing refers to the film KX pictured, right? I ask because I know Pentax also made another camera they called a K-x (annoyingly)

Hi revcor. KX and K-x are different as you point out. Back in the day there was an option to convert some bodies to motordrive versions and get faster shooting rates. The KX was one of them:

In your link there, on the bottom of the camera shows the motordrive as a plainly visible and sizable addition to the camera, but in the picture here of your KX listing, it looks to be sitting on its "normal" bottom surface, without any additional equipment attached to the bottom. Is the motordrive a removable piece? If so, when it's not installed, does the camera function as any other standard KX? Or is this camera one that has the provisions for attaching one, but not currently having one installed? Thank you for putting up with all the questions!

No worries, happy to answer them the best I can. Yes to both questions. You need the motor part and you also need either a grip or a power pack for it to work. Without the motor it works like a regular KX (but regular KXs cannot be used with the motor). Here you can find some cool info and pictures:

Cool, thank you! So this one you've got is, in its current state, effectively a standard normal functioning KX, with the bonus that it is capable of having this motordrive affixed to it. I am beating this dead horse because I have wanted a KX for a while, but the idea of lugging around some extra appendage attached to it sounds off-putting, so I wanted to make sure it was capable of being a normal run of the mill KX haha.

I adored my Minolta XE-7 and then it was stolen from my car, and my first (and now currently again) daily driver is a K1000. When I first learned about the KX it struck me as being kinda the Pentax cousin of the XE-7. Like an XE-7's spirit came back in a K1000's body (particularly love the viewfinder having an aperture preview and a shutter speed indicator). But aside from my using it to fill the shoes of my Minolta, I do think the potential to use a motordrive if I wanted at some point is pretty cool.

How long has it been hibernating since you last used it? Has it ever been CLA'd during your ownership, or any other type of inspection/maintenance/issue fixing? Are the light seals the originals? How do they look to you?

If you have any additional close up shots of it from various angles I would love to see those!

No problem. Yes, it is basically the same thing if you don't attach the motordrive or the grip. I don't think I have ever used this body with film. I can upload some extra pictures but if you are just planning on using it as a 'regular' camera personally I would look for the standard version, my guess is that it would be cheaper (probably not the smartest thing to say when you are selling something but I'm being honest )

Edit: ok, I just saw that you want to have the motordrive option just in case. I will upload some pictures during the weekend
