Challenge #26

OK folks, how about an architectural subject this time. I had a lot of fun with this one in Photoshop and came up with a nice print-worthy result. I'd love to see what you all can do with it.

RAW - 20100316_1624.DNG

JPEG - http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=gjthqwinmvm&thumb=4

Challenge ends Wednesday June 16th at 12PM forum time.

Can you post a full size jpeg version. My software doesn't do DNG.

Mickey, I think the general idea of the challenge is to process the OPs photos and post your results. A fine photo you have there but it isn't what the PP challenges are about.

I misunderstood.

I shall return. (I think)

I'd like to see what we are competing against.
I'd be happy to post my own result, but I think I'll wait until the challenge is closed and the winner is chosen. I don't want to lead anybody in a certain direction.

By the way, your "infared effect" image didn't show up...

I went for something completely different, creating a picture as if it was rendered on scratchboard.

Check again, I'm looking at it.
Strange. I see no photo in your post where you say youused an infrared effect.... So I can't see it either!

I also took a monochrome approach, initial treatment of the image in Aperture and conversion with silver Efex. I wanted to keep the clean lines of the original (I so want this lens!), intensifying detail and cropping.

I strove for details while keeping it dark and moody.

A cool one to try out - going overboard with colouring, dodging, levels, shadow & highlight recovery as well as sharpening:
