Unidentified Butterfly Over Busy Bokeh.

Only have a pocket guide for "Pacific Northwest Butterflies and Moths.". Basically a hard plastic brochure with about 75 species pictured. There are one or two that are close but not a match. Small butterfly. Appx. 2" across. Any ideas?

It's a Crescent, possibly a Mylitta Crescent: Mylitta Crescent Butterfly

That was the closest match I had in my little guide. The pic you provided is a perfect match. Thanks for the feedback.

K-3 and DA*200 2.8 with F 1.7x TC

There was plentiful food source this year.

The weather was perfect of milkweed plants apparently. They have thrived.

As have the little guys that live under their leaves.

Apparently this guy in three weeks will look like the ones in the rest of the photos, now feasting on this late summer plant, who's name I'm unfamiliar with.

They are no doubt packing in the calories for the long trip to Mexico.

Butterfly, actually. I got my first images of an American Snout this year. Not yet posted, I'm underwater in images which is normal for this time of year with backlog.
Species Libytheana carinenta - American Snout - Hodges#4411 - BugGuide.Net

Grapevine Looper moth.
