Some from my time in the Botanical Gardens last weekend.
The whitish one is quite small, about 6mm across the wingspan.

Enjoying all the nice pictures in this thread, I'll try to contribute. Have no idea what the name of these are.
Michael

Both images taken with M50 1.7 + extension tubes.

I see this thread is still active and I have one I would like for anyone who can, to identify it. It's not a Florida White Sulfur because a Florida White doesn't have black wing tips AFAIK.

EDIT: found the name. It's a Great Southern White, this is the male.

It's nice shot, I guess that's why they like it.

That's a great shot Mar, I see it made PPG, well done, details are outstanding.

Got a couple yesterday, a little breezy so they were not sitting around much. Haven't tried to ID them yet.

Nice shots Tom. The top one of yours is a Cabbage Moth. I'm still looking for the second one.

Thanks for the compliment on mine.

Went to he Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus Yesterday, these are all tropical species they have indoors. The lighting was very difficult, and I was using a MF lens new to me on the first three. I missed a lot of good photos due to my poor focusing ability.

Nice backlit butterfly shot! I''d try to shoot some if there were any around - too hot I guess. The monarchs migrate thru here every fall, so maybe I'll get a chance then.

paulh - This summer has been really hot and dry, not many butterflies, insects or flowers around where I live either. Mainly I think because they have no flowers to attract them this year. I'm seeing very few, probably less than half the flowers we had last summer. Last year loads, this year very few. I'm at my sister's place near Lufkin right now, about 3 hours from you. Don't know what's around here yet, too hot today and I'm tired from the late night trip. Will be looking around this evening and tomorrow though.

Here's a shot from Louisiana a few days ago, two Buckeyes.

And a Sulphur from a couple of weeks ago.

Both shot with Lentar 135mm and Vivitar extension tubes, the top one with half the set.
