Not very good at catching these guys yet!

I really like the 3D effect in that shot. Good job. I take a bunch of shots and hope I get some keepers.

Okay, did anyone ever see a 'tagged' butterfly? This is a first for me. Captured in the gardens at the Toledo Zoo with a Vivitar Series 1 90-180mm f4.5 on a K-5iis.

I photographed a tagged Monarch at Presqu'ile Provincial Park a couple of years ago and I responded to the information on the tag - I got a response but it seems that at the time the organization didn't have the infrastructure to actually process the responses.

On my last expedition one of the brass contact tags on my 300mm DA* lens came adrift - I (gingerly) bent it back in place without it snapping but somehow the white balance had changed to "bleach bypass". A bit of a change from my usual Monarch shots.

Nice, the wings are open. You must have a camera that captures 20 fps😄
Nope. Just persistence. And many deletions.

Eastern-tailed Blue at the College of Dupage prairie, August 30. Not uncommon, but nice to get a glimpse of the blue inner wing surfaces.

Before and After .... It was a good year for Swallowtails this year and a bad year for my wife's Dill plants which the caterpillars LOVE.
