Hydrangea, perhaps? Was this a garden plant?

Hmm. Looks rather like hydrangea but that is just a guess.

Here's another look at False Solmon's Seal, fully open (I think) this time. I shot this with my Sigma 70/2.8 macro at minimum focus, with the lens on an additional 50mm of extension, a combination that gets to about 1.8x. This is about a 70% crop from that image, hence the flower is about 5mm across. Naturally I hadn't noticed the tiny spider (?) while shooting; just lucky to get some with it in focus.

very cool shot and great luck getting the tiny spider. I think you are correct and that this is the flower... Hydrangea arborescens..... Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle'

Carolina Cranesbill (geranium family), a native weedy wildflower that is widespread in the US. This is a moderate crop of a 1:1 shot with the Sigma 70 macro.

I got this one down by the river today. I almost stepped on it. If anyone knows what it is, ID would be appreciated. I was laying on the ground to get close enought to photograph it.

Ohce, I'm sorry but your flowers do not fit the category. See what Pete was talking about when he started this thread:

So I thought it might be interesting to start a thread here devoted to tiny flowers. I wanted to keep it smaller than pencil eraser size, but that would probably limit the scope of the thread a lot, so let's make it no larger than dime size, just over 1/2 inch.

But the title says it all.

You'll have to edit and remove the photos. I'm not a moderator here, so can't remove them for you.

I don't normally remove people's posts, I leave that to their discretion and just note that they are outside the guidelines of the thread.

photolady - That looks a lot like Gaura, but the ones I see here are nowhere near tiny flower size. I've shot a few, almost 2 inches across. And I can tell those are nowhere near that large...so I'm not sure, a Wiki page I looked at indicates a number of varieties, could be some small ones there. This page has the best picture I can find, it's a pink one. The two petals per side feature though, is the main characteristic of Gaura...if that's not it, I Have no idea.

Gaura
