Two Hot Lips.

These two flowers are about as tiny as you could wish for. I do not know the botanical name for them, only that they are referred to as, "Hot Lips".

Pentax K100D Super with Pentax-DA 18-55mm F/3.5~5.6AL Lens.

1/45s, F6.7, ISO 200, Focal Length @45mm, no flash and used CWA Metering.

Thanks very much for viewing.

Antonio

The red color is not blown out in this photograph because there is no detail in the petals.

Allen your first one is a Crepe Myrtle, your second one is a Lantana.

TT I'm not sure yours qualifies as smaller than a dime which is what Paleo Pete who started this thread is wanting posted here.

The lavender one, you posted on the 16th is a crepe myrtle. I have the same bush in my yard, same color, too. The Lantana is the second one you posted with the butterflies. I also have that one in my yard, planted from a twig from a wild bush I found in the woods.

Okay, thank you very much. It sure looked that way when I took the shot. Anyway, I will do better.

As I don't know the size of a dime these were finger nail size, what I am curious about is how are they pollinated given that they bloom when the vast majority of creepy crawlies have gone.
