Pimenta dioica, "allspice". I think these are the male flowers, until recently I had no idea that there are male and female allspice trees. Anyway the female flowers are larger and quite showy. I wondered why there was never any fruit on this tree...now I know <sigh>. But the leaves are super-fragrant, a wonderful spicy (allspicy, forgive me) aroma when rubbed or crushed.

Here are some small Pterostylis or greenhood orchids. They make a trap for little black ants to crawl through in order to pollinate themselves.
