Common St Paul's Wort

bit soft on the petals but the beads of water are more interesting to look at so lets pretend I did it on purpose...

Thanks... I keep chamomile tea in the house, perfect for a night-time warm drink.

We call them "marigolds", they are popular garden annuals. That one looks like it will be amazing once it's fully open!

We've had oscillating rain and sun, heat and chill here, so in another day they'll be past their best. I grabbed a couple of snaps of the same tree for you so you can see them at more normal scales. The entirety of the trees are covered in blooms, and those modified leaf/sepal things. Other years they swarmed with insect activity at this time of year, but I hardly saw any the times I've looked this season. I've never seen a year this bad for insects.

Thanks very much! Now I have a better understanding of linden, which I understand are sometimes called "lime" trees, although they are not at all related to citrus. I never understood that, now I can picture a European "lime" tree. Beautiful flowers and images, thank you!

Happy to. They're pretty trees. For a long time I didn't know what they were.

One more for the thread, this is some kind of ground ivy, which is in the mint family but doesn't have much scent.
