Yeah, it's me again....

I found this lonely little guy growing down around the bottom of some other plants (weeds) that were about 3' tall. It is only about 6" tall. I know I've never seen one of these before and I certainly don't know what to call it other than "Shorty"! The other 2 "minis" were down there too. and the alien figure in the top left corner was the tip of my finger for size comparison.
Hmm, we seem to have lost video! I'll be back.

A couple more of these guys. They have bloomed a long time this season, nearly 2 months and still going. These were taken about a month apart.

Good one Blue, I really like that control of the area in focus. Drives me nuts trying to shoot on cloudy days to get the same effect. Might have to buy an ND filter or two.

Couple more orchids out in flower. Both have flowers around 15mm. Still shooting with the Macro 100mm on manual.

Great shots! The 2nd photo puts me in mind of the wildflower that I posted a little further up on this page. Yours has 6 petals though where mine only has five. You didn't happen to catch the name of it at the Gardens did you?

but beside jinson weed(flowers) they're about it for year in area.
Nice to have Dale show us all the wild orchids from down under as we head into winter.

I think this is the first one I've posted that actually meets the criteria of Tiny Flowers. Almost anyway, not a single but two bunches of them.

BillM - Same here. fall flowers won't last much longer. Also no rain, really dry here and it's late for the rains. That one you posted looks a lot like Purple Gerardia, but I can't tell for sure. They bloomed here in late August for about 2 weeks, gone now. I got some shots, but not sure if they have been uploaded to Flickr yet.

JeffJS - Very nice shot. Don't know what it is, but close to Bluets in general appearance.

photolady - I have no idea what that one is either, but you got a nice shot of it.

Dave I like those orchids, nice...
