Lasioglossum on Flowering Spurge. These perrenial small shrubby plants are always crowded with insects.
The bee is about 4mm long.


A Calliopsis andreniformis on white field clover. Maybe the closest images I've taken of the little unremarkable white field clover we all should have in our lawns.

I still don't know what these things are, but they sho' is purdy; the flower's about the size of a dime or slightly smaller, they grow on stalks that reach about three to four feet high (about one meter).
