Rosebay Willowherb Dreams

Chamaenerion angustifolium, known in North America as Fireweed some parts of Canada as Great Willowherb. It is native throughout the temperate Northern Hemisphere, including large parts of the boreal forests.

All that said... I just like the stuff for its bold splash of colour.

no idea what these are, they appear on upright stalks about two or three feet in height. growing wild along the edge of the roads. looks like Queen Anne's lace from a distance and at first glance, but I don't think they are unless it's some subspecies I've never seen before.

. As far as I can make out the genus is Medicago, common name Medics, but I can't get a fix on the species - I took the photos over a year ago and can't go back for another look. If so I think it is also related to alfalfa.
