These tiny little flowers were found in the longleaf pine savanna in Holly Shelter, NC. That's just sand and pine needles around it. Lots of tiny thorns on the rest of the plant.

Ooo...looks like some sort of dendrobium, I'll have to try to look this one up...thanks for sharing it! Very pretty!

(one of your native orchids, Den, speciosum, is sometimes called "rock orchid", but I don't think that's the name of this one...I don't think they have pink flowers)

Stinging Nettle, look and enjoy the fragrant flowers, but don't touch!

Edit: That is, Cnidoscolus stimulosus, not Uritica dioica, the more widespread plant with the same common name.

Vanda ampullacea, an orchid, formerly known as Ascocentrum ampullaceum. This is the "alba", or white form. Typical flower color is deep pink

Thanks, they did not look too inviting to touch, another of the same species that I would have liked to shoot was on the edge of a giant fire ant hill, so there’s were surrounded by potential pain.

I think that's Dendrobium kingianum. Beautiful flowers, sadly the plants don't grow well here in south Florida, it's too hot for them.
