To my knowledge this is a Psilocybe Subaeruginosa.

Thank eccs - Actually I, have no idea if this means they are old or if the grow like that. I just happen to see it and thought I'd try to capture it.

Spongefingers - That is definitely a classic look for a standard mushroom. Looks great!
fractal - That one is different. I don't think I've seen any like that growing around in my area. Is it as small as it looks?

Not too small, probably about 2 inches tall. You can see a few baby pins popping out on the right and they would be about 1cm tall.

agsy - That's a nice looking mushroom. Lighting is nice. Makes it almost look kind of purple.

Thank you! I used my sigma 28-70 EX DG 2.8 lens. I like the color rendition of this lens. I know it is not a really popular glass but my model is a good one.

WOW, lots of great fungi here. I have been going through my archives and have a few, including this one of bracken fungi. I liked this spot a lot because the sun was reflected off the tops of the fungi and glowed golden-orange on the tree trunk in the shady woods. Wish I'd been more practiced with my camera then, though. Fungi really are hard to expose for sometimes.

Glowing Bracken

Tamia - That is a great shot. Can you imagine how that would have looked if you were more experienced at that point in life? That would have been a killer!

Jimbow007 - What fantastic detail on that shot. What lens / camera did you use?

eccs - Thanks for staring this thread. I never really looked at my fungus shots until now. I used my K10 and Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 for both posts. I don't own a real macro lens (yet).

Went out for a walk today. Found 3 different varieties.

1. Not sure what it is, but it was about the size of a Canadian penny.

2. These are similar to the previous one in size, but they are kind of spiky looking.

3. Lighting was bad, but kept it regardless.
