Great thread, this is the first image I've posted on line, also one of the first shots from the wondrous K-5 earlier this summer.
DA 18-250mm.

A little edit required to get the attachment, attached.

With all the rain in the aftermath of Irene, these popped up in my yard.

A couple of days later, they opened up to this.

Here's one I'd never seen before. According to my expert, it's a Lion’s Mane Hericium or Old Man’s Beard fungus (Hericium erinaceus).

This cluster was growing out of the side of a standing tree, still alive maybe. Shot around 1:3 magnification, no crop.

Some really amazing pictures here! Can't compete, but want to share anyway. We've had over 150mls of rain in the last week and as a result there are 'shrooms everywhere..

I absolutely adore mushrooms, and looking at all of these makes me want to eat them! But I'm pretty sure all of these are poisonous

It's not mushroom season here yet, but here's a shot of some snow covered polypores. I'll go back there this summer to identify the exact species.

I have no idea what species this is, but they do make interesting (if unlovely) subjects, with weirdly wrinkled surfaces.
