Lets see your fungus.

Got any interesting / unusual fungus pictures? Sometimes fungus's make interesting items to shoot. Here's one from myself to get started. I found it interesting how it was growing out from under the bark.

My Fungus Is Getting Horny

...Or antlery. (Possibly yellow antler fungus?) Found this one last weekend.
K10D, 50mm Pentacon f/1.8 M42, extension tubes, bounced flash.

This is a well-timed seasonal thread, at least for us in the northern hemisphere. You know autumn has arrived when the fungus gets going.
Bring on the shrooms!

That's a cool looking fungus, that for sure. Great DOF. Excellent capture.

Eyespy, I think that is the worse kind of fungus a photographer could find. Shame about that nice lens.

Great subject and timely, too, Eccs19. The fungi are very abundant this year. Here are two shots of the Death Angel, or Amanita virosa:

Cross-posted from Single in September, took this on the 31st of August but I knew it wouldn't last. That evening it imploded when I hid it with some water.

Wow....I wouldn't have guess there were this many of us, who can't resist a good shroomshot.

DeliaRana - Those are a couple of nice shots. Especially like the second one.
Steinback - We get those here just North of Toronto. Usually in the spring. I think they are shaggy manes.
Tamia - Both nicely done. I think I've seen that first one posted in one of the POW threads, but nice to see. Second one looks nice and fresh.
mattb123 - now those are cute little guys. I like that one.
jheu02 - Is that a puffball? Looks like it's seen better days. We use to eat them, but now they make my mom sick.
WiseOx - Beautiful example of the traditional fungus that grows on the sides of trees. Nicely done.
Rense - All those great pics you've got, and no fungus?

That's OK, I'll do it for you:

Stinkhorn!

@Tamia - Good find. I've only seen one of this type before, but it may have instead been an Amanita phalloides (Death Cap.) Some look so similar it's hard to know for sure.
