I ran into Gail again. This time in January wearing crocs and double pairs of socks at -12 degrees Celsius. Since this time I have learned her name and I often stop to sit and speak with her when I see her and give her a few dollars if I have it on me...she never asks.

In this image it almost looks like the city is swallowing her.

I'm going to make like Perry White of The Daily Planet talking to Jimmy Olsen.
"The pictures so far are great but where are the fires-shootings-explosions- accidents and other images that fit the theme. "Jimmy-take Lois and Kent with you and don't come back without Page One Pictures."
THANKS TO ADAM--for putting the contest on the forum home page.---Adam--I want to see some shots from you.
Somewhere--some time--hopefully a Pentaxian will capture that one moment in time that makes for a remarkable photo that is truely memorable and without a doubt will garner Top Photo in this contest.---CharlieZap

Charlie:

This is one tough contest! ... for someone who usually "shoots" birds!
I doubt if I ever would enter it but I sure am enjoying the photos this far.

Anyway, this is going to be one heck of a show! Just looking at the few first entries is prediction for great "competition".

Best to you all on this contest!

Cheers.

JP

Somebody asked for a fire?
I only had my K200D a little more then a month when I used it here; it's my first and only DSLR. Consequently I left a lot of decisions to the camera. This dump for old tires was targeted by a arsonist and the owner and fire brigade battled a long time to get it out.

A girl (street person) was murdered at this rooming/drug house about 3 years ago ago. It is now closed down and abandoned but the RIP writing is still on the front door.

Show Me Your Pulitzer....

Hey everyone! I'm a new guy in town. Traded my Canon 20D for a K7 and some lenses. So far, I'm not missing the 20D one bit.
I saw this contest... Thought I'd give it a try. Here are 2 shots from a military funeral of a family friend. This is his dad receiving the flag from a one star General who took the flag from his son's coffin. Very hard moment for this father and his family.
