Here's a view of the Naumkeag steps from further back. Hedges hide most of the steps on either side, and the mass planting of lilies, part of the cutting garden at the base of the steps, obscures the the last central steps and blue recess. The birch trees are also part of the landscape design. They were originally planted in clusters of three although because birch is not an especially strong wood, some of the clusters have been reduced to only two trunks.

Another view from the bottom to show the central steps at the very base of the stairs.

And a final view looking down from the top of the stairs. You could go either left or right to descend to the next lower gravel-covered terrace.

Only three iterations here, but there were many along the stems & branches of this plant.
Very nice photograph. Almost reminds me of a DNA or Double Helix. Great work. Thanks for uploading.

Thanks noel, but the steps sort of self-compose. They are only visible from certain spots, especially the entire length of them. so the composition is almost inevitable. Actually, I wish I had brought a wider lens.

That one is every bit as visually pleasing and intriguing as the first one.
