Organized repetition. I thought this was a fascinating object, for sale in a gift shop.

From the Wharton Esherick Museum in PA. We would have never come across this museum (prior homestead of Wharton) except that my Wife's brother had a stool presented in an exhibit. It is just a few miles from Valley Forge and in the suburbs of Philadelphia. I will be posting other shots in other threads.

Wood, bark, trees, branches, leaves, flowers, etc. Great sources of interesting textures and patterns.

In addition to plants or pieces of plants, geology is a good source of patterns, repetitions, and textures.

True, especially when juxtoposed against other kinds of natural textures. I like the contrast between the blades of grass and the surface of the rock in the picture below. (order mixed up by website's combination of successive posts)

As well, the contrast between the wood surface and the fabric on the back of a chair:

Dried mud has beautiful texture but with my Pentax I don't wait for it to dry. I go out while it's getting wet.

View of the ceiling in the cafeteria at the headquarters of the National Rifle Association in Fairfax County, Virginia. I had lunch there while my truck was being repaired by a local dealer, and happened to have the camera with me.
