Two great patterns. The ceiling light is mesmerizing.
Thanks. I thought so too on the ceiling light, and I had lots of time to stare at it while bored on night shift and waiting for something to need fixing.

Haha, I remember those commercials from when I was a kid. Not too far off, I'm an instrument mechanic at a pulp mill. When in night shift we have to carry a radio and be available to quickly get to any issues that come up. They don't give us other work to do though, so it's mostly just sitting around. They call it government work when we bring in our own projects to work on, and it's somewhat encouraged by our supervisors. One of my predecessors got his master's in either psychology or psychiatry, and set up a fairly succesful practice while on shift so he had something to do once he retired.

Noelcmn's posted some really interesting flower details that I think are proteas, so I'll try my luck with one.

And here as an afterthought is a readily identified but not so beautiful pattern.

That is a very interesting image. Very evocative of Autumn harvest and impending winter.

Below, the treatment of the top of a wall that is unmistakably Oriental, in this case Korean. Traditionally the tiles were probably just stacked without mortar, but in the USA the tiles would have disappeared in no time. Cementing them together has lessened but not eliminated vandalism and/or souvenir collecting.

I really like photos of backlit leaves, and the patterns in them. This first one was taken with my K1 handheld, using my old screw mount Takumar 50mm f1.4, with a short extension tube and K mount adapter.

This one in the grass was taken the same day and with the same setup as above.

This one was taken with my K3 and Sigma 105 macro, and we get to enjoy colourful leaves on this maple tree all summer.

This was on the same tree as above, but taken at the end of November last year. This year the leaves were all gone first week of November.
