Bark. It would not surprise me to find enough pictures of tree bark to a maintain a thread devoted just to that subject going for many weeks.

three turtles sitting on a log in a lake at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha Nebraska

what strikes me:

curves: of the log, shells, necks, waterline, the legs

the patterns: of the wetness on the shells, the stripes, the number, the angles of the heads

and finally the reflections

Buttonbush blossom - very common in this area near water. The bloom is slightly smaller than a ping-pong ball.

Close-cropped image of the surface of a slime mold. I believe this one is commonly called "scrambled-egg slime." Second image is the uncropped view of the entire growth, about 1.25 inches (~33mm) across. The bright yellow is eye-catching and startling among the dominant muted browns of a woodland.

The Oreo cookie slime mold is one of my favorites...not edible so far as I know, unfortunately.

Two patterns, I like the second one, a detail of one of our favorite dinner-table place mats. The fabric is dense, flexible and impossible to wrinkle, so even if one as been rolled up or folded over, it immediately lies flat and smooth, and absolutely nothing sticks to it = dried spaghetti or chocolate sauce, ice cream, coffee or tea wash off without a trace. Throw it in the washer, then the dryer and when it emerges, it's like new. Never seen others made of the same nylon(?) material.

I like the curves, the colors, the subtle differences in the surface of the actual petals

I hope you do too

note the pollen scattered on the petal

I have always liked the patterns I find in nature

[ I think a B/W presentation is best here ]

both non subtle ( the color/shape differences and the physical curvature of the face ) and the subtle ( shading caused by wrinkles in the skin and the hair "flow" )

I like the bokeh I got on 1 and 2

Yayoi Kusama's artworks in Ginza, Tokyo.
It took me around 10 - 12 trips up and down this escalator and the one in the opposite side to get thing to line up the way I want.
