Some pedestrian-worn surface roots of a cottonwood tree. Rain from the night before soaked in and really brought out some color and sharp linear patterns in the wood.

I think this qualifies as a texture, but maybe should be on the thread for abstracts. Inside bottom of a special coffee mug that belonged to my father-in-law (we got along great so long as we avoided politics). The best porcelain does't develop this kind of cracking, and the outside of the mug is OK. It was tricky positioning the lights (two LED spots) to get the interior illuminated but avoid washed-out reflections.
