What a cool memento of your world travels it would have been. A colorful hand made piece like that would look great in one's home.

I always look forward to your shots from all the places you have been in the world Walter, and live vicariously through them. I have never been off the North American continent, and the only foreign country I have ever been to is Canada, and I doubt I will ever travel to other parts of the world.

So thank you for sharing your view into the world around us.
I was sorely tempted by that little area rug, but we already have quite of few souvenirs from Africa, and I suspect I would have needed to have it sent. Glad if you enjoy images from places we've been. M really has a travel bug, loves to go to new places. She's been some places I have not (Russia, China, Japan). When we were first married pretty much all our vacationing was driving in the USA and camping, as motels seemed too expensive. We even favored public campgrounds as they typically charged nothing to about $5, less than half the cost of a KAO, and of course we almost never ate at a restaurant on those trips. We've come a long way, and in later years inherited a bit, which after both of us working and being frugal lets us do pretty much what we want now (= spending our kid's inheritance).

Awesome shot Racer, and not with a K-3!
Thanks Charlie!

Yes, the K-5IIs has been an awesome camera. All of my cameras have been a great joy to use, making exposures and learning more and more about how to use them to manipulate and capture light.

Now that I have the K-1 I fear the K-5IIs is going to fade into obscurity like my other digital cameras, the K10D and the camera with the funny name, the *ist DL.

Two variations on a similar, but not identical pattern.

About 11 or 12 inches of ripple-bottomed snow self-extruding from the edge of our back porch roof, complete with icicle fringe.

I thought the meltwater added a bit of randomness to the repetition

"Art" installation. It is visually interesting, but I suspect the "artist" cannot draw.

You turned it into "art" when you took that picture!!!

Here's a few more icicles, a very regular pattern due to the tiled roof gullies.
