DeSoto receiving hot mineral waters from an "Indian maiden" on her knees. The statue is at the center of the Roman Bath room of a 19th century hot spring spa that is now park headquarters and a museum. The statue exudes European attitudes toward First Nation people. It found it creepy and offensive.
