Also Eleanor Roosevelt. I, on the other hand, consider it a good day if I can remember the names of my offspring.
And when someone asks me my name, there's the driver's license right in my wallet. Now, which pocket did I use for my wallet?

A spare Statue of Liberty, riverside park, London Mills, Illinois. Not a great replica of the original around the face, and much smaller, but it doesn't hurt to have a back-up copy hidden away on a bend in the Spoon River.

Sears/Ricoh f/1.7 50mm, Pentax ME Super SE, Ilford FP4, f/8, 1/500 sec.

Quite a few I got yesterday, from a visit to the Everard Read Gallery, one of the premier galleries in Johannesburg. Some weird stuff.

And whatever next

And another whatever next?

Card players, a little statuette along our driveway. Only the newt with his back to us is looking at his own cards. Rain and sun and pretty much washed or bleached away the original paint. I cleaned this thoroughly and repainted it, but after three years the new paint is peeling off in many areas. Frustrating.

I've seen realistic statues of animals such as the giant tortoise at several zoos. Kids love them and it's easy to tell where their hands go first.

The second statue, modern rather than realistic, was at an interstate highway rest area. I always wonder if this type of statuary is really creative. or evidence that the artist was incapable of rendering something in 3D.

It's some kind of camera. I've heard several people talking about the convenience of having a "pocket camera."
