This little statue cause quite the international stir back in 2009. Edvard Eriksen's heirs filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the city of Greenvile, Michigan. Eventually the lawsuit was dropped. The statue is about 12 centimeters, or 30 inches tall, which is around half the size of the original. It sits along the banks of the Flat River. The town has a large Danish festival every year. Michigan itself has a very large population of Dutch, Danish, and German decent.

And here is a PS modified version that turned out just as I wanted in terms of obliterating the background.

These actually are sculptures. In this sculpture park touching is strictly encouraged.

One of the style of sculpture that seems to be quite popular = very realistic and set in such a way that it might be mistaken for a real person, but not placed on a pedestal. It invites a more personal-intimate connection with the statue. Iceland, and I did not record who it is nor why he's worthy of a statue.

A clergyman, otherwise I don't know much. I suspect he was someone greatly respected and admired locally
