The artist who created this outdoor installation of scores of statues owns a nearby motel & restaurant. The statues are everywhere, including at small scale in the gift shop (I bought one of the smallest of them, made of wood). I'm not sure if there is a message in this morass, but as the statues seem to be marching ashore out of the sea and there are a few out on an anchored raft, they seem to represent immigrants. SCANS from the Film Era. Along the coast of Nova Scotia.

From the Everard Read Art Gallery the other day, I was just too late to enter as they were busy closing. Shot from the outside, or through glass

Part of a series of bas-relief plaques that commemorate Jacques Cartier meeting the St. Lawrence Iroquoians in 1534, and a gargoyle or dragon meant to attract visitors to the artist's studio. SCANS

BTW: The website for the artist is still active.

A reproduction of one of the hundreds of carvings that decorated the Vasa. The original carvings are in remarkably good condition, but the paint is gone except for microscopic specs in the wood. A Based on those, this and many other replicas of the original appearance of the carvings have been made. Can you imagine a modern warship with this on its stern?

Hercules (or Heracles) another reproduction of one of the statues of heroes that adorned the 17th century Swedish warship Vasa. In addition to mythological and ancient heroes, there were some more modern (for the time) military and national leaders memorialized by carvings. FYI: The Vasa had about 700 individually carved wooden statues and decorations
