Some great shots on this thread.

Here's a snap I took when I was trying out my FA135 when I first got it - medieval music reenactment; this guy was a bit freaky to be honest:

K10D, FA135, 1/45 at f/2.8, ISO 560

Nice Alice Shot, I shot him in the 70's once and met him, always amazed he survived they were some of the hardest drinking lunatics I've met (next to maybe Lemmy from motorhead) Certainly is nice to have the lights of a big venue show makes life way easier

thanks , I've shot the dolls a couple of times, nice guys for the most part (David's a little bit of a "star" but then most singers suffer from that)
Walter is still great, I've known him since the heartbreaker days they used to come to Toronto quite regularly and i used to pop down to NYC alot

I liked the Dolls but loved Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers. You naikled it on singers. reminds me of that story where Charlie Watts got disgusted with Mick Jagger's continuous bragging and downgrading of his contributions. Charlie grabbed him and pushed him slightly out a window and said, "Let's get things straight, I'm not your drummer, You're my singer!"

I still miss johnny on a regular basis, he was a wonderful human being, and funny as hell (usually unintentionally - I have a few NSFW stories about him lol)

Most of the time if I like a singer they are also a guitarist or bass player.

Love the Charlie watts story, Keef hasn't gone to micks dressing room pre or post gig in about 20 years his new book is apparently quite good got a good write up yesterday in the NY times book review, think it's on my Xmas list

Oh yeah and blues singers are frequently the exception, I've not met one i didn't like
