Looking at the flow of the shot, I felt the eye-draw is the subtle arc in the path and the shrubbery alongside it. As well, I felt that some focus was required on a unique feature in the photo as there is a ton of competition for the eye with all the details in this shot, so I picked the shrubs closest to the path as the main focus of the shot.
Decided to take the color information out and used the sepia chic (from the wonderland preset library) preset in LR as a starter. Cropped to 16x9 aspect ratio. Then tweaked curves, black levels, exposure, etc. Used two graduated filters to darken exposure from the top left and botton right, as well as minimizing clarity and sharpness for the "small world" effect to draw the eye in further. Now reads a bit like a sepia infrared shot, drama in the tones, not the color information. Also wanted to emphasize the pointer-like effect of the branch in the left side of the composition.
