Still some excellent shots showing up here. I've been missing out, only one or two foggy mornings here and mostly thin stuff., No good fog shots so far this fall.

Great fog shots!

From an early morning half-marathon my wife ran in last year...

Heron in the fog yesterday

And another from yesterday, Sorry about the tilt, I missed it.

Vivitar 200mm M42 no editing except crop and resize. One should have been tilted slightly though...

Finally a chance at some more for this thread. Nothing at all, then a couple of good chances the past couple of weeks.
This one was 4:30 in the afternoon, not really fog, but a mist rolling in at the lake after an all day rain. I thought this tree would make a good shot...

Heron sitting on a stump, a few mornings before the previous shot. One of my favorites of all my fog shots, this one just came out great. No editing but crop and resize. I think this one is what fog shots are all about, every time I look at it I like it more so I finally decided to show it off.

Both shot with Vivitar 200mm M42 lens

The last shot really has a surreal kind of quality. It's beautiful.

Thanks a lot, that's why I like it so much. Like I said, one of my favorites. Surreal is not word I thought of but it kinda fits...I just like the way the fog works, it seems like it even shows around individual stumps. I got some nice shots that morning but this one just stood out.

moored for repairs

Paleo,
Your last 4 are all splendid, but the 2nd one is in a league of its own - outstanding.

This is a shot I posted somewhere else on the forum before. So I hope you all don't mind me posting it again. It sort of fits well in this thread.

Fries - Cool shot I like it.

Nesster - Forgot to say that shot at the top of the page is great.

Legacyb4 - Yours is a really cool shot too, very nice. Only thing I would change would be to put the sun off center. Excellent shot.

Philbaum - Thanks, I've been itching to get out and grab some fog shots, sure was glad to get a few. But which 2nd one??? The heron flying in the tilted shot? I thought that came out nice and have since fixed the tilt. My favorite is the last one, that shot just has to go on my wall soon as I can get more ink...

Think I have a couple more but will have to try and upload a couple later on, no time right now.

No, i was thinking of the heron standing on a stump in the middle of a hi-key ghostly scene of several stumps. outstanding. Your heron flying along the row of trees is very haunting/surreal. Could you comment on your ideas about toning. I respect the way you make your images very realistic. I often worry about making images so dark that folks won't look at them.

Fries - interesting texture in your negative space - and surreal channel - nice!

The shot of the Heron on a stump is a cracking image.

I've been trying to get a shot of some Cornish mine buildings in serious weather for a while but during my my last visit all I had to work with was fog.....still, quite pleased with the result.
