I didn't know this thread existed. Have been posting insects on the "show me your insects" thread started by photolady. Guess I'll have to post on both, as I hate to turn my back on anyone.

I'll be scattering several images of this event on other threads. Because this is insects. this one is DOOMED CRANEFLY. I came upon the scene seconds after the fly was caught. Took about 20 images but wind pushing the web back and forth ruined many of them.

Some species of cricket, a bit small for the zoom lens I had taken on this walk, the image required too deep a crop to maintain really good IQ.

not sure of the type of butterfly other than " flighty " it, along with all others I saw today would not stay at rest for more than a second or two

Early AM and I think this bee was still too cool and groggy to take flight.

Painted Lady, it's migration season for these. You may be far enough south for them to overwinter, I'd have to check. I think we're too far North.
