FIVE DAYS! since I posted an image on this thread with no action. Maybe these lovers on a bed of spiderwort will draw some interest. Light reflecting from the petals has purple-ized the insects.

Trio of tiny flies on a spiderwort blossom. Sun reflecting off the petals gives the flies, especially their wings, a purplish cast.

Synchronized pollination is going to be in the 2020 olympics.😀
I have never seen that.

It was, to some degree, a lucky capture. The little flies were coming and going and I was snapping many images while rotating the focusing ring back and forth. The plain of focus fell about right just when three flies had settled. The face of the fly at center is in the POF. Faces of the other two are a little too close so the region of their thorax is in sharpest focus.

I think this is a species of "flesh fly" (Sarcophagidae). It wouldn't turn toward me, and as soon as I started moving to my left, it was gone. Very deep crop.

This one is all about the antennae, but they are impossible to keep within the plane of focus. The tip of his left antenna, which is pointed forward, has nipped.

White-Tails and Blue Dashers are good subjects. They like to perch and pose. Those Darners, not so much!
