Tough call. I think the elements are stronger in the first one but the subject is much stronger in the second.

Genre telephoto landscape goes to the first one. The textures, and color and depth are great.

As an environmental portrait. The brighter bug and lines are clearly better.

I also like seeing in the flower.

So, both good in different ways. Which is objectively better depends on the subjective viewer orientation on what they desire to see.

Thanks for taking the time to reply... your correct in saying that photography is very in the eyes of the beholder, like most art forms.
