Hopeless for me to attempt an identification of this microlipidopteran, Far too many species that look far too similar.

Japanese beetle, a much hated invasive pest. When I was a kid there was a population explosion of this colorful beetle and it seemed that everyone in the neighborhood had traps out attempting to save their roses in particular.

there were three of them, flitting through the brush while I was trying to catch one at rest...
