Insects

Pentaxians

Have not seen a thread for this subject, though I have seen a few photos of insects, mostly on POTW threads. Lets see those fantastic macro shots. Do not want to set any limits to how many photos can be posted, but lets try and make them interesting, and scary And yes spiders are allowed.
Should be interesting. I'll start with a few from my collection.

Ooo, lots of good ones already. Good topic, Noel. Here's one, but he's (she's?) not scary.

Yeatzee. Where is Temecula. I gotta know where it is, so I can take it off my places to visit. If this is you mugshot, I don't want to meet you. Positively angry looking fella. Great Shot too

Iris, you continuing in Rense's vein?. Great shots too.

And Tamia-wonderful. So glad you've joined this thread. Makes a visit worthwhile

Have a great weekend.

ps. Where is Paleo Pete with his binocular kit?

Thanks jax zee. I've been shooting everything I can with that rig all summer, lots of good shots of everything small enough to shoot...bees, wasps, tiny flowers, spiders, you name it...

and a couple more I just had to share, these are not exactly insects, but the humble abodes they create. One is even home...

This one was found hanging on a shrub branch empty. Hinged lid, made something like a wasp nest, out of material that resembles brown paper. It was still there a month later, I'm planning to look next time I go there, probably this weekend...

This one was spotted moving along the pier at a local Wildlife Management Area. A few minutes later it was in a different spot so I looked closer...a tiny bug inside here, carrying home along wherever it goes. Not sure what bug, all I saw was a tiny (pinhead size) black head peek out now and then and some really tiny legs. It's less than 1/2 inch tall, made of tiny bits of leaves it looks like. The bottom rim is barely the size of a match head.

I never did get a decent shot of the head, but if you look close you can see the ends of a couple of tiny legs in this shot.

Bug on the wall...

I was walking down our old Main St. taking some Christmas photos when this thing brushed my ear as it was flying by - I just grabbed a shot with my M50 f/2 before he buzzed off again...yikes
