Pentax-M f4 50mm macro with close up filter. This is one of my favs from the spring. The butterfly drank water from the crevices in my driveway and I literally was right on top of him.

Who doesn't like some overripe watermelon rind?
Certainly these Red-Spotted Purples do. It never fails to attract these, even though I rarely see them in the gardens.

I'm always happy to find crane flies, I'm fascinated by them.

Was at the Flower Market here, more bustling because Chinese New Year is around the corner, they had these huge plants swarming with bees, had to take some shots.

SCAN. Looks like a bee approaching, but it's actually departing. Best way I found to get this type of image is to quickly focus on a bee that's on a flower, then snap when it departs.

What a start! The horizontal structures give a very dynamic impression, the DoF is perfect.
