They never do! I've only got a couple of images of perched Black Saddlebags. We have plenty of them here, they're found anytime people congregate (and draw insects).

The only insect I photographed on Hawaii (also found only one spider to photograph). This is probably Conocephalus saltator which seems to be the most common grasshopper on the islands. It's probably a native, at least not introduced by Europeans but possibly brought by Polynesians.
