I am not quite sure how I managed this, but it worked out well.

Never admit that a fine image was a stroke of luck. Call it "just as I envisioned."

Textures & Rays

With a wee tad of flare thrown in for good measure.

Apologies if you saw this image on another thread. I'm posting it several places that it seems to fit. Taken with a circular fish-eye that takes in 210 degrees so that pointing straight up as here, you can see the ground surface all the way around.

Morning mist and some mild flair on the kettle pond down the road. I wasn't early enough to catch the very dense mist that sometimes coats this pond.

DA16-85WR - into the morning sun on a misty morning. Sun just coming over the ridge. Closed the aperture to about 1/32 trying to provoke some star burst from the lens and got more side effects than expected.

I usually try to avoid flare, but this seemed like just the right amount to add realism.

Played around with this hair pin this aft. Had to get the angle right to get flare from all 4 of the clusters, with the sunlight streaming into the house, so the background was unavoidable.

A different angle gave less flare
