I only did some really informal testing so far. You can see it here:
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/80029-leica-le...ml#post1356726

My findings so far are that the sharpness across the whole frame is excellent, especially considering that this is a wide lens. Colors are definitely cooler than the usual pentax warm tone, but very true to life. Bokeh is still an unknown, as I've really had no opportunity to get any specular highlights. Will need to take it outside in daylight.

Even if you hadn't put in Sigma on the left, Leitz on the right it would have been super apparent. I'd love to see the comparison against some of the Pentax 28's like the m f3.5 which is turning out to be pretty sharp from my experience

you're lucky to have got this lens it's stellar from the look of it. I imagine when there is another Single in it will be the lens you choose. you'll have to try it on film too

I'd love to pit it against some good Pentax glass. Don't have any 28's though. As far as film goes, I don't have a film body at the moment, but I'm too consumed with my father's Mamiya medium format camera. Waiting for more time to go out and shoot!

keep your eyes open, i got my 28 for $13, could have added a body for another $5 but didn't need it
finding the cheap stuff just takes dedication and will power not to go above a certain value (I walked away from a Fuji 50mm f1.4 over $10 ( I got him down to $30 but didn't want the body, and the lens was a little sloppy in it's focus so may have needed service)

I'm a cheapskate when it comes to old glass but i would raise my limit for some lenses (say a nice 85 - but even then I hope for the don't know what they have scenario)

Michigan isn't that far away. But for the foreseeable future, the leica glass will be welded to the K-x.

Holy moly the images in that Leica thread is something else, how permanent is the adapter? I am asking because you wrote "welded".

The adapter is completely reversible. Everything is intact. No modifications made to the lens (no shaving or cutting). It's just a different mount that uses the same screws. By welded, I meant that I will keep it on the camera a lot haha. I have a bad feeling that this super lens is going to make me want more from my other glass.

Cheers Jack! Well, your vid turned out to be partly true since we had snow again this morning. No cider or swimmingpools though.
