Kure Beach, NC

These were taken with a Fuji Finepix F700 before I got my K20, but they're still some of my favorites. I think they were all the same day, but if not, they were the same week. Unfortunately, this same week the camera died, focus wouldn't lock anymore. Not a bad camera for a PnS though.

I can see why you include #1 and #2 there- a similar frame, but 1 has the shore and crashing waves and the sun's reflection on the water, and 2 has the distinct yellow to red sun transition, and some birds (?).

Nice shots.

Pelicans I believe. I also wanted to get more of the main cloud that's in the frame. I always try different sun locations and see which composition looks better.

I remember those days all too well, though most of my sunrise shots were when I was in the USAF and cameras were verbotten for single-seat planes. Not that I had a camera at the time anyway, but it would have been nice....

Just a couple miles up the road from Kure Beach is Carolina Beach. This was also with the Fuji. Taken in 2007.

Oak Island, NC

Another couple from a different NC beach and different camera, Olympus Stylus 1010. I had gotten it in June, but quickly got the bug to get back into SLRs and ended up with my K20 in September. The shape of the NC coast is interesting here as it seems like this would be a sunset shot with the sun over land to the left, but this beach runs almost East-West before curving back to the South.

My favourite place to watch a sunrise: Honey Harbour, Ontario, Canada.
Then we get to fish!

Lovely place! I love the reflection. Is the split in the middle caused by passing boats?

I believe the people at that particular park clear out that path specifically for the boats.
